At LKR, we pride ourselves in not only offering a competitive program, but a pathway full of opportunities that will adapt to your player's needs and goals.
STEP 1: REC SOCCER
Recreational soccer serves as the foundational step in our pathway, providing them with their initial exposure to the sport in a fun and inclusive environment. At this stage, the emphasis is on fostering a love for the game, developing basic skills, and instilling important values like teamwork & sportsmanship. LYSA/Cajun Rush & Southside Youth Soccer offer low-pressure, non-competitive gameplay where children can learn and enjoy the sport without the pressure of intense competition. It's a space where kids can make friends, stay active, and begin to understand the fundamental concepts of soccer in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere.
The Rec+ Academy serves as a stepping stone for recreational players who are eager to take their skills to the next level. In this seasonal 6-week program, participants receive more specialized and professional coaching aimed at refining their technique and expanding their understanding of the game. While still maintaining a focus on fun and enjoyment, the Rec+ Academy introduces players to more complex soccer and motor skills, and challenges them with tactical concepts that enhance decision-making on the filed. The Rec+ Academy provides a bridge between recreational soccer and more competitive levels of play, helping players build confidence and readiness for higher-level competition.
STEP 3: LKR YDP
The Youth Development Program (YDP) is for our U9 - U10 players who are interested in taking their development to the next level and want to proceed down the competitive pathway.
The Youth Development Program allow 9U & 10U players to develop at an accelerated pace. These programs are designed to bridge individual player development and basic team aspects to prepare players for a smooth and fluid transition into our Girls Academy and Boys Academy at 11U. Players are placed on teams based on preferred training locations, and, to a lesser degree, current and potential skill level. Teams play an average of 12-15 games per season.
The LA Krewe Rush Competitive division is for 11U-19U players who are ready to take their development in this sport to the next level. Led by experienced, professional coaching staff, your player will experience an increased volume of soccer in a focused, goal-oriented, competitive environment.
Our competitive teams train regularly to further develop their technical skills and tactical understanding of the club style of play. Competitive teams are formed in the summer of each year through open tryouts and evaluations. Players are accepted to their team for a one year commitment beginning July 1 to June 30th the following year.
STEP 5: Rush Select + ODP
The Rush Select program is an international program in which Rush Soccer forms "all-star teams" that are comprised of the top Rush players. These all-star teams get to compete in 1 or 2 high-level tournaments across the country, providing an invaluable experience to players without the demand for long-term commitment.
In a similar fashion, the ODP program - developed by Louisiana Soccer Association - recognizes the top players in the state at each age group, and forms all-star teams to compete in high-level tournaments in our region. Just like at Rush Select, there is no demand for long-term commitement.
LA TDP Elite provides high-level players (U13 - U19) in Louisiana with the chance to train with and play against the best players and teams in the country under the direction of highly qualified coaches. Elite players from hub locations in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and New Orleans will come together to form teams to provide players with a greater prospect of identification in all levels of play.
LA TDP Elite teams compete at the highest level of youth soccer in the country at MLS Next (Boys) & GA Academy (Girls), playing against professional club academies from all over the United States. The program demands long-term, full commitment to the sport.
STEP 7: LKR Adult Teams
LA Krewe Rush Adult Teams offer a pathway to local players to play in amateur women’s and men’s league during the Summer. It is the perfect opportunity for our local club players who aspire to play collegiate soccer, or pursue professional careers to experience high-level adult competition.
The Gulf Coast Premier League (GCPL) - home of the LKR adult teams - serves as the leader in amateur soccer along the gulf coast. They offer a pathway for players, coaches, referees and club staff pursuing their sporting careers while assisting member clubs to organically grow their brands in their communities.
Louisiana Krewe FC was born to become the link that joins grassroots amateur soccer to the professional game in South Louisiana.
LA Krewe FC represents Lafayette/Louisiana in a national league (USL 2), and presents the peak of our local soccer pathway. The Krewe houses players from all over the world during the months of league play, which combined with our local talent and provides a realpathway to high-level collegiate soccer, and professional soccer in Louisiana.
The United Soccer league Two (USL 2) - home of the Krewe - has propelled 700+ players to the professional level at MLS and USL Championship as of 2019.
